Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist as well as a music producer. She is the youngest woman and also the first woman to receive a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar star. She's a child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Her birthplace was London in 1982. In during her early years, she swam between London New Delhi. At the age of 13 she staged her debut performance at New Delhi. Then she relocated to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha still has a promising performing and recording careers, even though she's young. For a long time she regularly performs with her father. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years following her debut solo album. The stage work she has done is extensive for she has appeared in all of the world's major venues. Anoushka Shankar's career is not restricted to just the music industry. She also published Bapi, the love of my life in the year 2002. It is a biography which pays tribute to her dad Ravi Shankar. In addition, she acted. In 2003's film Dance Like a Man, where she played a Bharat Natyam dancer young girl. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging superstar and her fame will keep on growing. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of her time in London and Delhi in her early years. After that, she moved to California for high school. At the age of 9 She began studying music with her father. Her first performance with the sitar came at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi just four years later. Anoushka gained a lot of experience by touring across the globe together with her father. She appeared at Carnegie Hall in her teenage time, and also recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. The youngest female to win the House of Commons Shield, presented by British Parliament to recognize her talent and musicianship in the Asian Arts.
